The University of the Aegean (short name: UAegean) is ranked as one of the most scientifically productive universities in Greece. The University’s connection with Greek and foreign Universities, Research Institutions and Businesses, UAegean’s fully equipped laboratories and workshops and the excellent quality of its scientific and research staff have resulted into excellent results. UAegean has contributed to generating high-level scientific staff, participating actively and considerably in research, the University’s education and in industry projects. The research at the University of the Aegean has also significantly contributed to resolving problems at local level, connecting its operation with the local societies of the islands that host its Departments.
UAegean will promote the project results in the Greek industry through:
- The production of a document that describes the benefits of using eID in the provision of cross-border services and details the necessary technical steps and investments required to connect to the Greek eIDAS node
- A specifically designed dissemination strategy in the members of two prominent private associations in Greece with which UAegean entertains strong collaboration links: Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) and Panhellenic Exporters Association (PSE)
- The very targeted promotion of eIDAS Interconnection Supporting Service, a gateway that will be developed in this project with the objective to translate eID infrastructure standards in common enterprise technologies (XSD, JSON, PSH, MS SharePoint etc).
